My father-in-law totally ignored his gutters for six years. I mean, he just pretended they weren't there. Every Thanksgiving, when we passed his house, I would peek up at the roof and flinch. The leaves were so matted together that new grass was growing out of them. Water was running down the siding right after each rain. And, he said the same thing every year: "I'll do it in the spring."
